National Parks and Wildlife Service has now started the Autumn hazard reduction season and will continue to undertake planned burns, weather permitting. At 1st April 2014, NPWS fire crews had undertaken more than 140 hazard reduction burns covering over 56,000 hectares of national park during 2013/14. find out more

The National Parks and Wildlife Service is partnering with experienced and skilled volunteers to help reduce pests in 12 national parks and reserves. The three year trial is a first for NSW. It will be monitored and evaluated to determine how effective the contribution of this new approach is in reducing pest animal populations and protecting our native species. find out more
